Dice Reading - Inspiration and Grounding

I wanted to show everyone how the Platonic Solids reading from my book Roll for Divination! works, but there's a lot of explanation for that one, and I don't think it would work well for these general readings. I can do a reading that draws inspiration from the Platonic Solids reading, though! We'll have one more week after this that I do a dice reading to celebrate the book having been out for one year! 

In the Platonic Solids reading, each of the dice is a different shape and aligns with things like elements. I'm taking some inspiration from that and looking at d6 (Earth) as what can ground you, and d4 (Fire) as what can inspire and drive you.

The number 4 on the d6 tells us to find what grounds us in stability in our environments. That could be something like having a schedule, or it could be something like having a garden to go tend to when you need to let your mind rest.

The 2 on the d4 tells us to find inspiration in a close relationship. That could be something like continuing work that a favorite elderly neighbor used to do, or doing something because it will give your children something better than what they have now.

You can also put the two together. Maybe you can make regular plans to get together with a friend for coffee, or to regularly visit an older family member. Making it a regular thing would make it something stable, and it can be a person you look up to. Or maybe just having someone to talk with regularly will help you sort out some ideas about what you're doing and get feedback from someone else's point of view.

A different way to use "Art Grimoire"

I really wanted to work on my Art Grimoire map one day. I didn't want to do the normal rolling the d6 to find out which Mystery I would be working on. I just wanted to work on the map I already had going in my book.  So I did! (Fantasy map of an island drawn in a sketchbook. There are strange symbols in various place on the land and water, some forests and sea creatures, and places marked with warnings in red ink.) Maps are an easy thing to stay focused on while still seeing your sorcerer's sanity numbers go up and down. The cards, which raise and decrease sanity, are a big part of the prompts for maps. Sharing my writing is easier than sharing divination readings. I can tell you that my writing is available  on itchio  or through  my ko-fi  and you can go see what looks interesting to you. I can even share little bits and pieces of things now and then.  Divination? Well, I can tell you where to go to  request a reading . Forest Tales

I was getting ready to write about what I've been playing with recently when it comes to poetry, when I realized I'll have to do that some other time because I still haven't posted about Forest Tales !  (Cover of Forest Tales  by LK Nesse.
