3 Card Tarot Reading Example

Sharing my writing is easier than sharing divination readings. I can tell you that my writing is available on itchio or through my ko-fi and you can go see what looks interesting to you. I can even share little bits and pieces of things now and then. 

Divination? Well, I can tell you where to go to request a reading. I don't share information about readings I do for clients, though, and each reading is unique. I can't share a piece of what you'll be getting the way I can with my writing. I can, however, give you an example so you'll have an idea of what to expect! 

There are five options for readings, and I'm doing what I can to keep them as accessible as possible with the prices. Still, it's been a good stretch of years since the last time I was offering readings, social media has gone through a lot of changes, and not as many people know what to expect from me these days. Trust me, I understand how that can make someone question whether or not even $10 is worth it. I'm going to do a reading here that is an example of what you'd get for the $10 three card reading. Instead of making an appointment for a video call, I email your reading to you as a pdf report that includes at least one photo of the cards. 

Speaking of cards! Just in case anyone is curious, I'm using The Rhythm and Soul Tarot from La Panthère Studio for this reading. 

Let's say someone named Kris requests a Past/Present/Future reading about their job. I would have an even better view of how things apply if I had more information, but I want you to see what a reading would be like based on nothing more than that. Also, it's easy to fall into a trap of making up a fictional person whose situation fits well with only one interpretation of the cards. I can't accidentally do that if we only look at Kris wants a reading about their job.

Before we get into the interpretation of the reading, I want to let you know the Jazz suit in Rhythm and Soul Tarot is traditionally the Wands or Staves suit, and the Axes suit is Swords. That will be helpful to know if you also read tarot, or if you would like to discuss this reading with someone else who reads tarot.

Looking at The Chariot as Past tells me this job was a big step for you in some way! The Chariot is a Major Arcana card, and you can look at those cards as big milestones in life. It may be that the job was obviously a big deal for you, or it may be that it had a more subtle effect such as opening other opportunities. Whatever it was, this wasn't simply luck going in your favor. It put you in the driver's seat. 

Looking at the 8 of Jazz (Wands) and 10 of Axes (Swords) for Present and Future, it looks like being the driver may become kind of overwhelming, if it isn't already. These are Minor Arcana cards. They aren't the big milestones that the Chariot is, but they do give us information about how things are playing out, or could play out, along the road you're on.

The 8 of Jazz (Wands) shows things are busy. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The sticks are all sailing clean through the air, not looking like a mess that just got tossed in whatever way, and the sky behind them is bright. This is the kind of performance that comes from development of skill, organization, and practice. This could mean you have proven that you can be trusted to handle bigger things at work. 

Since I don't know what exactly led you to want this reading, I have to point out it could also mean you're doing a lot of covering up the effects of everything being so busy. If you're feeling anxious and wanting it all to slow down, that's not showing on the outside the way you might be afraid of. It looks to other people like you're handling it all just fine.

This suit is the Fire suit, and I like to look at it as someone's inner fire, or passion. It's about the work you do, but not always the job you get paid for. It can be about volunteer work or hobbies that someone is passionate about. In this case, though, I'd say it is about your job since that's what you wanted to look at. If you don't love your job, you're putting enough of yourself into it that it can still be seen as where your passion is.

With the 10 of Axes (Swords) as the Future, it looks like things will start falling apart even if it's all going well now. Simply being aware that things can be going in that direction gives you the opportunity to make choices that could prevent it, or at least prevent it from doing the damage that would be possible if this was a complete surprise. Remember that you are the driver of this Chariot! 

This is about something coming to a close. The suit is the Air suit, with Air being associated the thought and reasoning. If everything being so busy has been wearing on you, this could be a warning that you're running the risk of mental burnout if you just keep pushing. Make sure you're asking for support, whether that's being able to redistribute responsibility at work or just having a friend or family member to vent to at home. 

If you've been happy with how things are going, this may be a warning about change coming. That could mean getting moved to different responsibilities, finding out you're working with a new manager, or it could even mean work is influencing things other areas of your life in ways that could make it necessary to make a choice. You may have to let something go in one area in order to keep what you have in another area.

I can't assure you that whatever change is coming will be something happy. That's not what this suit is known for. It doesn't have to be a helpless doom, though. It's possible that you'll feel like somebody has let you down, or that you'll feel like you let someone else down. It's even likely that this could be more than just one thing bringing you to the point of change. You may be headed toward "one little thing too many" that makes you recognize you can't let yourself lose control of this Chariot, and you decide to make the change yourself instead of having to adjust to someone else's decision. Instead of looking at this as things will go wrong and there's nothing you can do, look at it as a warning sign so that you can adjust how you drive that Chariot and make it through. I like to remind people that when you plant a seed, the seed has to be destroyed in order for the plant to grow.
